Born in Tokyo in 1965; has studied traditional music and performing art of medieval Japan at Nihon University in 1984, Fine Art division, Play major. To build on the achievement of his grandfathers, Sokusui Yamaguchi and Kakushin Tomoyoshi, both of whom were great lute players, took Kinshi Tsuruta as his teacher and started to learn Satsuma style lute in 1987. Internationally known through his performances in famous concert halls, such as Carnegie Hall 1993, Sydney Opera 1992, etc. Recipient of numerous awards and distinctions.
